ABOUT OUR TEAM:
The SWFLCFE Team is a Sports Club hosted by CrossFit Fort Myers LLC. We have a different approach to training for endurance events. AET (Anaerobic Endurance Training) is our specialty. What does this mean? In a nutshell, our endurance athletes train for Power, Speed and Strength while maximizing their Aerobic capacity. We use Olympic Weightlifting, Powerlifting and IWT (Interval Weight Training) techniques to build endurance athletes who are on average MUCH stronger than most!

We feel these elements are more often than not overlooked in the training protocols for endurance athletes, and if they are included do not serve as useful a purpose as they should due to poor exercise selection, programming, technique and/or lack of intensity. Additionally, by using a compressed training cycle of randomized interval, tempo and stamina WOD's (Workout of the Day) we are able to develop Aerobic capacity without the sheer volume demand of traditional LSD (Long Slow Distance) programs.

It is our goal to provide endurance athletes in Southwest Florida a unique opportunity to learn another significant way to effectively train for their respective events that will allow them to: increase strength, power and lean muscle mass; focus on technique based training, rather than sheer volume; learn and improve proper biomechanics of running; reduce chronic inflammatory responses (IT band syndrome, plantar fasciitis, sciatica) and gain back their life outside of training - something many endurance programs will not allow for. Our multi-sport endurance athletes train LESS THAN 10 HRS/WEEK.

Annual Dues are $40 to be a member of the team, and the only prerequisite is that you must be an active training client of CrossFit Fort Myers LLC. All levels of fitness are welcome and there are no contracts but this does require a commitment on your part to learn, practice and participate in our training program. Running Technique:
You will receive instruction on proper running mechanics conducted by a Certified CrossFit Endurance Coach including video analysis of your current running form and proper skills/drills to correct any problems. Remember, your sport is skill based - you need to learn and practice!

Nutrition Guidance:
One of our CrossFit Nutrition Certified coaches will help you to establish a new meal plan based on our unique concept of "Paleo/Zone" nutrition that is geared towards both performance and reduction of systemic inflammatory responses that will aid in recovery between workouts.

Program Planning:
Whether you are a recreational runner preparing for your first 5K or an established endurance athlete seeking your "next step" in increased performance we can custom tailor an individual program for you. Single and multi-sport athletes are welcome; including short, long and ultra-distance events.

The CrossFit "Support Group":
You will be training with like-minded individuals from all walks of life that have banded together to train in this tiny "micro-gym" for one reason - they LOVE CrossFit! In many ways CrossFit has re-kindled their passion for the sport, and opened their minds (and bodies!) to a new method of training for endurance events.
